New Technology for Alerts 3.0
The technology supporting Science.gov Alerts
has been upgraded to bring the Alerts syntax in line with the more
complex search capabilities of Science.gov 3.0. Science.gov
Alerts should be sent out according to the regular schedule. However,
if you have any questions regarding Alerts, please send email
to webmanager@science.gov.
While the transition will be mostly transparent to Alerts recipients,
there are a few things you should know:
- The password system: You will receive
an email asking you to click on a link to set your password
on the new Alerts system. As a backup, the process
currently in use to change your password will still be available.
- User accounts: Accounts with the same email address will be merged for future administrative
purposes.
- Query syntax will be adjusted to take advantage of the new Science.gov 3.0 query capabilities.
- Rank changes may be noticed due to the 3.0 ranking system,
including those documents ranked in your six-week personal
Alerts archive. Documents will not be lost during this process.
Again, contact us if you have any questions or difficulties.
