Spelling Suggestion Feature Adds 100,000 Terms

Approximately 100,000 words from the physical sciences have been added to the Science.gov spelling suggestion tool. Patrons need not know how to spell words such as dichloromethane, ferrite, and transuranic. Instead, patrons can input a “best guess” and, if misspelled, will see a “Did You Mean …” message with a spelling suggestion. The spelling suggestion tool is available on the Science.gov basic search as well as on the full record field of the advanced search.
