In the fall of 2015, the Joint Staff J7 (JS J7) sponsored the Bold Quest (BQ) 15.2 event and conducted planning and coordination to combine this event into a joint event with the Army Warfighting Assessment (AWA) 16.1 sponsored by the U.S. Army. This multipurpose event combined a Joint/Coalition exercise (JS J7) with components of testing, training, and experimentation required by the Army. In support of Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)) System of Systems Engineering and Integration (SoSE&I), Always On-On Demand (AO-OD) used a system of systems (SoS) engineering approach to develop a live, virtual, constructive distributed environment (LVC-DE) to support risk mitigation utilizing this complex and challenging exercise environment for a system preparing to enter limited user test (LUT). AO-OD executed a requirements-based SoS engineering process starting with user needs and objectives from Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (AIAMD), Patriot units, Coalition Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (CISR), Focused End State 4 (FES4) Mission Command (MC) Interoperability with Unified Action Partners (UAP), and Mission Partner Environment (MPE) Integration and Training, Tactics and Procedures (TTP) assessment. The SoS engineering process decomposed the common operational, analytical, and technical requirements, while utilizing the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Distributed Simulation Engineering and Execution Process (DSEEP) to provide structured accountability for the integration and execution of the AO-OD LVC-DE. As a result of this process implementation, AO-OD successfully planned for, prepared, and executed a distributed simulation support environment that responsively satisfied user needs and objectives, demonstrating the viability of an LVC-DE environment to support multiple user objectives and support risk mitigation activities for systems in the acquisition process.

Resumen Introducción La impulsividad es un rasgo de personalidad multidimensional relacionado con el control del comportamiento y las emociones. Está presente de manera diversa en los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria, particularmente, en la bulimia nerviosa (BN). Aunque la relación entre la impulsividad y BN ha sido objeto de numerosas investigaciones, en la actualidad se desconocen los sustratos neurobiológicos de esta relación. Objetivos Discutir críticamente la evidencia que sugiere que las alteraciones en los sistemas neuronales relacio-nados con las funciones ejecutivas, con la formación de preferencias y con la regulación de los estados emocionales sirven como base para el rasgo de personalidad impulsiva, así como su estado en subgrupos de pacientes con BN. Métodos Búsqueda selectiva de la literatura relevante. Resultados y conclusiones Esta discusión ilustra la complejidad de la relación entre la impulsividad y BN, donde la impulsividad actúa como un factor de vulnerabilidad que puede sensibilizar al sujeto con BN a estados emocionales negativos, durante los cuales modifica el impacto de estímulos internos y externos sobre el comportamiento y su regulación, favoreciendo así patrones de comportamiento maladaptativos e inflexibles. Blood pressure, intraerythrocyte content, and transmembrane fluxes of sodium during normal and high salt intake in subjects with and without a family history of hypertension: evidence against a sodium transport inhibitor.

Seventeen young normotensive men with a family history of hypertension in two generations (H) and 15 age-matched control subjects (C) were studied with respect to blood pressure (BP), intraerythrocyte sodium content (IeNa), sodium influx, and rate of sodium efflux. The investigations were done during normal salt intake and after 4 weeks of ordinary intake plus 12 g NaCl daily. BP did not increase significantly in either of the two groups during increased salt intake. During normal salt intake H had a significantly (p less than 0.01) higher IeNa (9.5 +/- 1.5 mmol/L) compared with C (8.2 +/- 1.4 mmol/L). During high salt intake IeNa in H decreased significantly to 8.1 +/- 1.2 mmol/L, the difference from C (7.6 +/- 1.2 mmol/L) not being significant. While the Na influx was similar in the two groups, the rate constant for Na efflux was significantly lower during normal salt intake in H (0.23 +/- 0.08 vs 0.29 +/- 0.1 h-1, p less than 0.05). Salt intake increased the efflux rate constant significantly in H (0.28 +/- 0.08 h-1, p less than 0.05), while it did not change significantly in C (0.32 +/- 0.08 h-1) compared with the value for normal salt intake. Our results suggest that young men with a hereditary predisposition to hypertension have a higher IeNa secondary to a lower rate of Na efflux, while a normal Na influx indicates normal cell permeability to Na. The findings in H during high Na intake--a decreased IeNa and an increased efflux rate of Na--do not favor the existence of a sodium transport inhibitor, in subjects predisposed to hypertension, increasing during high salt intake and volume expansion and acting through inhibition of the Na efflux.
